SPSCC’s “Poetry in Motion”
Originally published on social media on March 17th, 2024
Here is a 2nd performance from the week that I felt lucky to attend!
I always enjoy going to the SPSCC choir concerts for four reasons:
1). I was in the Chamber Singers once and enjoyed the experience.
2). My friend Diane is still in Chamber Singers and I love going and supporting her.
3). There is always at least one song that really touches my heart, inspires me, or brings me joy. This time, there was a song or two that had lots of “fa la las” and I’m admittedly a sucker for a good “fa la la”…there is just something about them that make me so happy. There were a few other songs that I really appreciated, and I enjoyed the concept of this concert and how it revolved around different forms of poetry. Poetry in general is amazing, and I’ve always loved the creative ways poets explain the emotions in a more deep, beautiful, and accurate way than many others are capable of.
4). I really love seeing the community spirit alive and well at SPSCC. The choirs are full of diversity in every form, and seeing this beautiful variety of people perform together always reminds me that maybe world peace is possible. Music is one of the keys to world peace right? I think so.
This is the only performance featuring this specific program, but I know they will be having a performance in the spring. I encourage you all to go and hey, if you’re interested, I know they always are looking for more people to join!
