The Five Senses I Long For

The dream in my heart

Cries out

For the five senses

I long for.

I long to see your face

The blush and glow that appears

When you see me.

To bring fire to your eyes.

I long to know

Your personal scent

To embrace its comfort

The same way you would with mine.

I long for the taste

Of a romantic meal together

And of the dessert,

Sweetened as your lips meet mine.

I long to hear your voice

Speak my name

As if it were sacred

With a tone that says I love you.

I long to feel the strength of your embrace

In contrast to the gentleness of your fingers

Combing through my hair

As I hold the back of your neck.

All of these senses lead

To the greatest of all.

The sense of love

Captivating us both.
