Pinocchio

In a strange way, this is a great film to watch during Easter. What better way to be reminded of how much we need God than to watch little gullible Pinocchio fall into temptation and make poor decisions, especially without the wisdom of the best conscience of all: Holy Spirit. I’m so grateful that God has never given up on me even when I’ve had a wooden head, and that He sent His son to die on the cross so we may have eternity with Him!
This film is genuinely scary at times, but is a great way to share the idea that sin has consequences, but that God’s love and grace can always help us find our way back home. Also, that we don’t need to wish upon a star in order for God to hear the desires of our hearts and answer our deepest prayers.
I just had to watch this film after riding it’s magical Disneyland ride, and it was somehow better than I remember it! Still not a favorite movie, but enjoyable. Plus, the song always brings a tear to my eye! I’m glad I watched it again before the new Tom Hanks version comes out!
Wishing you all a happy Easter
Rachel
